Cancellation Policy

This Cancellation Policy explains how you or your lawyer can cancel a consultation booked through MyLawPoint, and what notice periods apply. For refund amounts and processing timelines once a cancellation is made, see our Refund Policy.

1. Cancelling as a client

You can cancel a booked consultation any time before the scheduled start time, directly from your dashboard under "My Consultations". How much of your payment is refunded depends on how far in advance you cancel:

  • More than 24 hours before the scheduled time: Cancel freely, full refund.
  • Between 6 and 24 hours before the scheduled time: Cancel freely, partial (50%) refund.
  • Less than 6 hours before the scheduled time: Cancellation is still possible, but no refund is issued as the lawyer has reserved that slot exclusively for you.

2. Cancelling as a lawyer

Lawyers can cancel a confirmed consultation from their dashboard. If a lawyer cancels for any reason, the client is notified immediately and receives a 100% refund or the option to reschedule with the same lawyer (or a similar lawyer at our suggestion) at no additional cost.

3. No-shows

If a client does not join a scheduled phone consultation, or does not arrive for a scheduled in-person consultation, without cancelling in advance, this is treated as a no-show and no refund is issued. If a lawyer does not join or is unavailable for a scheduled consultation, the client is eligible for a full refund or free reschedule — see our Refund Policy for details.

4. How to cancel

Go to "My Consultations" in your dashboard, select the upcoming consultation, and choose "Cancel". You'll see the refund amount you're eligible for (if any) before confirming. For help with a cancellation, write to mylawpointmk@gmail.com with your booking reference.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Material changes will be communicated through email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect.
